Privacy Notice for Job Candidates

At Social Discovery Group ("we", "our", or "us"), we are committed to protecting the privacy of all individuals who apply for a position with us. This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data during the recruitment process.
1. Who is the Data Controller?
Social Discovery Group is a group of companies located worldwide. The Data Controller is the possible future employer within us, and the determination of the controller depends on the role you apply for and the location where you are situated. 2. What Personal Data Do We Collect?
We may process the following categories of data.
Identification Data: Full name, date of birth, nationality, photograph (if provided).
Contact Details: Email, phone number, address.
Recruitment Data: CV/resume, cover letter, work history, education, references.
Assessment Data: Interview notes, test results, task submissions.
Public Data: LinkedIn or other professional profiles.
Data confirming your residency and absence of sanctions applicability: Lease agreement, utility bills, copy of an electronic work record card.
Other Information: Any additional information you voluntarily provide.
3. How Do We Collect Your Data?
We collect data directly from you (e.g., job applications and interviews), via third-party recruitment platforms or agencies, from publicly available sources such as LinkedIn, and from referrers you've been engaged with.
4. Why Do We Process Your Data?
We process your data to assess your qualifications and suitability for a role, communicate with you about the recruitment process, conduct interviews and evaluations, make hiring decisions, and maintain records for compliance and business purposes.
5. Legal Basis for Processing
We rely on the following legal bases.
Contract conclusion and performance: Completing steps to enter the contract and receiving services from you if you would like to go on with it as a contractor.
Legal Obligation: Complying with employment, anti-discrimination and sanctions laws if you would like to go on with us as an employee. Complying with legal requirements if you would like to go on with us as a contractor.
Legitimate Interest: Assessing candidates as part of our vacancies fulfillment and analyzing data for our recruitment process.
Consent: Where applicable (e.g., when we process your data for a purpose different from the initial one).
6. Who Do We Share Your Data With?
We may engage third parties for certain data processing activities, such as third-party service providers (e.g., applicant tracking systems like Breezy HR or Google Workspace).
We may also share personal data, provided we have a legal basis for doing so, with authorities and other governmental bodies where required by law.
In any event, we do not sell your data.
7. Data Retention
If your application is unsuccessful, we typically retain your data for up to 24 months and more following our legitimate interest in ensuring a smooth, effective and correct recruitment process unless you opt out of our processing. You have the right to opt out as described in Section 8 of this Privacy Notice.
Please also note that we may keep your personal data for compliance, legal defence and accounting purposes where required by applicable legal obligations.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access your personal data, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent at any time if you have previously consented to processing, object to or restrict processing where permitted by applicable law, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
